Our mission is to provide young participants with all of the skills and experiences that are conducive to life-long music-making.
Who Can Join?
The choirs are open to singers in grades 2 though 12 (typically ages 7 and older). The Prep Choir is open to children in grades 2 and 3. The Treble Choir includes children in grades 4 through 6, as well as male treble singers in grades 7 and older. The Concert Choir is a all-female choir for grades 6 through 12. Sixth-grade girls are encouraged to sing in both the Treble and Concert Choirs. No prior singing experience is necessary. Auditions are required for acceptance (with a parent present during the audition) and children are only excluded from participation under the most extreme circumstances. There are no restrictions on residence.
How to Enroll in the Choirs
At present, we are accepting statements of interest and requests for application for Fall 2016 for all choirs. To do this please contact Roberta Thomason at (919) 319-6534 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We will return an acknowledgment within a few days along with pertinent information.
Each choir charges semester dues or “tuition” to pay for expenses incurred, currently $175 per semester for membership in one choir. Tuition for sixth-graders who sing in both the Treble & Concert Choirs is $260 per semester. Cary Youth Voices purchases all music and folders, which belong to the choirs. The singers are responsible for providing the necessary uniform to be used in performance. Scholarship assistance is available on a needs basis.
